This is quite a rare sight: An L0 Maglev at Yamanshi being pushed by a shunting locomotive.
The Japanese Maglev system rolls up to about 120 km/h on wheels that are then retracted like on an airplane. Therefore, when not in operation, the Maglev can be pushed on wheels with a locomotive. A disadvantage of the wheels, however, is the resulting wear and tear, particulate emissions and maintenance requirements.
