[CN] Hyperloop China 2 km test track

A novel ultra-high-speed (UHS) magnetic levitation transportation system has successfully completed its demonstration test in Shanxi Province, North China. Developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited and Shanxi, this maglev train could reach speeds of up to 1,000 km/h.

The test, conducted with a superconducting magnetic levitation train in a 2 km long low-vacuum tube, demonstrated controlled navigation, stable suspension, and safe stopping. The train's performance matched preset values for speed and suspension height, and all systems operated normally, with the vehicle closely following its theoretical trajectory. The test also verified the establishment and maintenance of a long-distance, large-scale vacuum environment and superconducting navigation control, showcasing coordination between various systems in a low-vacuum setting.

Construction of the UHS maglev system began in Yanggao County in April 2022, integrating aerospace and rail transportation technologies. In the future, this system could facilitate travel between China's megacity clusters, potentially allowing travel from Beijing to Shanghai in about 1.5 hours.

The transportation system has been jointly developed by the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited and Shanxi, according to the report.
