Maglev Propulsion Technology for Ship Propulsion?

Hi all,
Do you foresee "any" scope for use of maglev for ship propulsion? The track can be replaced by underwater nuclear power small sized submarines which do two things - move forward and generate the magnetic field similar to that in the train track. Changes on the underside of the ship can be made as per what is there in the maglev trains. As for variations in power requirements of different ships, multiple submarines can be used, all of which can be remote controlled and probably robotic, in case facility for physical attachment and detachment from the ship is required. The strain on the ship's structure will not be because of these physical connections, at least not alone. Or, is it feasible to magnetically couple the shaft of the ship, with the requisite modifications, to an external rotating magnetic field in the submarines which stay and move under the ship.
It should be possible to do something similar with systems using fuels such as H2, LNG, etc. also, but probably floating ones.
