Info based on Japanese media report and press release:
Shizuoka Prefecture has received many comments from inside and outside of the prefecture about the response of Shizuoka Prefecture to the construction of the Shizuoka Central Shinkansen Line.
The website has been renewed so that many people can deepen their understanding of Shizuoka Prefecture's thoughts and responses to the Linear-Central Shinkansen.
[...]
Shizuoka Prefecture is in favor of the Linear Central Shinkansen project. On the other hand, the prefecture is concerned about the impact of the construction of the Minami-Alps Tunnel on the water resources of the Oi River and the biodiversity of the Minami-Alps, as well as the impact on the ecosystem and the environment caused by the large amount of residual soil generated by the construction. We are also concerned about the environmental impact of the project.
The renewed website clarifies the issues that Shizuoka Prefecture is concerned about and provides detailed explanations in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section in response to the negative comments received.
The website of the dialogue between Shizuoka Prefecture and JR Tokai on the Central Linear Railway Shinkansen is here: http://www.pref.shizuoka.jp/linear.html
