The construction of the 55.1-km line in Gifu Prefecture is proceeding in six cities and towns, but it is not going smoothly by any means. Of the 10 construction sections in the prefecture, only 5 have begun excavation work. The Hiyoshi Tunnel Minamigaito construction section (Mizunami City, approx. 7.4 km), the first in the prefecture, began construction in 2016, but only 40% of the tunnel has been excavated.
