China’s T-Flight: The 600-MPH Floating Train That Could Redefine Travel (?)
China is developing an ultra-high-speed “floating train” called T-Flight, a Hyperloop-inspired maglev system designed to reach speeds of up to 600 mph (965 km/h)—faster than most commercial airplanes. By combining magnetic levitation with low-vacuum tubes, the system drastically reduces friction and air resistance, enabling unprecedented travel speeds.
Recent tests show strong progress. In early 2024, T-Flight reached 387 mph (623 km/h) on a short test track, and later in the year it successfully operated under low-vacuum conditions, confirming the technical viability of the concept. If fully realized, the train could cut travel time between Beijing and Shanghai to about 90 minutes, compared to roughly six hours on current high-speed rail.
China plans multiple testing phases, including a longer track designed to push speeds past 600 mph, with even more ambitious long-term goals that remain speculative. The system already surpasses the performance of Japan’s record-holding experimental maglev.
At the core of T-Flight is advanced maglev technology—using electromagnetic or superconducting systems to lift the train above the track—eliminating physical contact and enabling extreme speeds. If successful, T-Flight could redefine long-distance travel between major cities.

There is so much BS about China's fast maglev this seems like more of it,must be embarrasing for China.
