Asia's first Global Hyperloop Competition; February 21-25, 2025
IIT Madras will host Asia's first Global Hyperloop Competition (GHC) from February 21-25, 2025, aiming to revolutionize global transportation. The event will take place at the university's advanced 450-meter Hyperloop test track in Thaiyur, Chennai, developed with partners like Indian Railways, ArcelorMittal, L&T, and Hindalco. Organized by IIT Madras, IITM Pravartak, and SAEIndia, with support from the Ministry of Railways, the competition will feature around 400 participants competing in three categories: Pod Demonstration, Hyperloop InnoQuest, and DesignX. The Hyperloop is a high-speed transportation system that uses a near-vacuum tube to allow pods to travel at over 1,000 km/h. The competition aims to highlight the potential of Hyperloop technology and the innovative capabilities of students in the field.
