NTT Urban Solutions announced that, in collaboration with scheme verge, it will conduct a demonstration experiment from October 11 to 13 that utilizes next-generation mobility and water transportation to connect the Shinagawa Konan area with the neighboring Tennozu and Odaiba areas.

Demonstration of a Mobility Hub
The demonstration is part of the event "TOKYO BAY DISCOVERY JOURNEY 2025," jointly organized with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Tokyo International Arts Festival Executive Committee, and the MEET YOUR ART FESTIVAL Executive Committee.
The Shinagawa Konan area is a key transportation hub connected by high-speed rail and airport lines. With the future opening of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen and urban redevelopment, its role as an intermodal hub is expected to grow further. At the same time, challenges have been pointed out, such as the limited options for transport after leaving the station and the underutilization of canal-side spaces as routes to neighboring areas.
As part of this demonstration project, two mobility hubs and one mobility port will be set up to strengthen the area’s role as the “gateway to the bay area.” Various types of next-generation mobility options, adaptable to individual circumstances and preferences, will be provided. The initiative will assess mobility demand, challenges, and potential solutions for improving circulation within the area.
In addition to testing hub functions for short- and medium-range travel, the project will also consider the Shinagawa Konan area’s role as a starting point for wider-area connectivity linked by the Shinkansen, airports, and the Linear Chuo Shinkansen. By enhancing the integration of transportation across different scales, the initiative aims to further develop the area’s hub function.
