Unread post by IMB »

JR Tokai will hold the first "Superconductivity Linear Experience Ride by the Improved Test Car (L0 Series)" from May 24 (Tuesday) to May 26 (Thursday), 2022, at the Yamanashi Test Center in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

The improved test car is a brushed-up version of the existing "L0 Series" linear train (Chuo Shinkansen). One lead car and one intermediate car have been improved, and running tests are being conducted on the Yamanashi Linear Test Line from 2020.

The Linear Experience Ride will be offered six times a day for three days, with two seats per compartment, for a total of 180 compartments with 360 seats. Participation fees are 4,400 yen for one compartment and 8,800 yen for two compartments. Applications will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 25 to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, by lottery in units of two seats per compartment. Applications can be made through JR Tokai's "Superconductivity Linear" website. Applications will also be accepted by telephone at the JR Tokai Tours "Application Inquiry Desk", but due to the limited number of lines, it is expected to be crowded. Winners will be notified of their selection and payment method between Monday, April 25 and Thursday, April 28.

At the end of October, JR Tokai held a trial ride event for the general public on the Linear Central Shinkansen Experimental Line in Yamanashi Prefecture. The company also introduced a new test ride experience, such as projecting a map of the experimental line and images of the train running on the ceiling of the train. Construction of the Shizuoka section of the Linear Line is not expected to begin until 2027, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve the planned start of the Linear Line in 2027.

The test run will be held from October 25 to 27, and 2023 will be the third time. The event was held at the Experimental Center in Tsuru City, Yamanashi Prefecture, with a total of about 500 people attending. The ticket price was 4,400 yen for one compartment (two seats) and 8,800 yen for two compartments, and on the 27th, a projection event using an in-car projection system was held for the first time. The projection was very well received, and some visitors commented that it was very easy to understand the information about the ascent and descent, which is unique to the LINEAR line," said a JR Tokai representative.

A test ride event for the press was also held on two days between October and November. In addition to an explanation of superconducting technology by a company executive, the ride also showed how the train switches from running on wheels to levitation and reaches a speed of 500 kilometers per hour.
