Your opinions on the subject of Hyperloop:
Hyperloop: Is its use in the long-distance passenger transport sector possible and sensible?
Students at the Technical University of Deggendorf (Germany), in collaboration with the International Maglev Board, are investigating the question of the future suitability of Hyperloop technologies. One goal is to gather the transport industry's view of Hyperloop concepts.
So far, the public discussion has been dominated by marketing information from various companies. It is therefore necessary to ask from a scientific perspective how realistic such information really is. How do the transportation industry, transportation scientists, engineers and potential operators therefore assess the prospects of Hyperloop concepts?
- Are Hyperloop systems practical - or unrealistic?
- Is there a sensible balance between potential benefits and costs?
- Are Hyperloop technologies as a whole sensible - or dispensable?
