Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
At 16.10 he says China had the first HSR freight train but according to AI it only carried 110t over eight carriages.
19.42 that is what they hope for but at present it is pushed by hand.
Japan and China have different safety standards so the Japanese will not sell the SC maglev to China so they are trying to make it themselves so they are stuck with trucks and planes for years while Japan has proven it between 1997 and 2011.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
To avoid push back like California and Japan I suggest a referendum on stage one connecting Melbourne to Sydney via Albury and Canberra like they had in Sweden with the base tunnel but it would need 80% to pass as we are very conservative.
Unlike present HSR which has to be subsidised worldwide the overnight container train not only removes half the trucks off the Hume but the SC maglev kills planes with a cheaper more reliable daytime fare.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
Like the Sydney opera house the Parrahub building has never been built before so it needs a lottery to avoid interest charges although I estimate $2m per unit with fees and charges covered by the shops in the centre.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
After watching how slow trains are in America perhaps they would buy the overnight container SC maglev off us to remove some trucks and planes.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
As Australia is already in bed with CLARA that did not stack up economically perhaps they may let us showcase the SC maglev here with overnight containers and possibly sell it to China as well as America.
Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
If you ask AI if an overnight SC maglev container train is possible to reduce daytime fares it say yes BUT and it says because it does not run on steel rails it will be unlikely but there is no need to use steel rails between Melbourne and Brisbane apart from many other things it has got wrong.
Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
With all the floods and fires we have had lately I think it would be essential to have all launch sites fire and flood proof and perhaps the accommodation to build it could be used as a refuge for people in the area if needed.
Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
As America has to start building ships from scratch I wonder if they could make ships that have SC container maglev trains inside that can reduce the time taken to unload container ships while making daytime fares affordable in big countries.

Like the CG railway.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
Mexico works cheap and to ease relations with them America should get them to make the rail ships in my opinion.
I had not realised how much faster they were than the rail in that area.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
SC maglev will be the future of trains after the crash in Spain and with no maintenance needed overnight container trains will keep daytime fares below planes.
Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
If SC maglev is much safer than steel rails depending on the country the insurance cost would be much cheaper.
Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev
Regarding the train crash in Spain as I am a safety nut it looks like an accident waiting to happen going so fast on steel rails.
