JR Central Unveils New Linear Maglev Test Train with Fixed Seats "and More Legroom"? 
JR Central showcased its new Linear Chuo Shinkansen test train “M10” at a media preview, revealing interior updates designed for greater comfort during short, high-speed journeys.
The new intermediate car, introduced in July on the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line, features non-reclining fixed seats with thinner backrests, allowing for more legroom and easier storage of luggage such as suitcases under the seat. The company explained that since the maglev will connect Tokyo (Shinagawa) and Nagoya in as little as 40 minutes, the absence of reclining seats is not expected to affect passenger comfort. JR Central added that the M10 will serve as the design base for future production models, though final specifications are still under review.
The train also includes a ceiling curtain to reduce sound reflections and improve acoustics inside the car. Because more than 80% of the route will run through tunnels, JR Central is experimenting with projecting visuals—such as route maps and speed data—onto the ceiling to reduce passengers’ sense of confinement.

They should not call it a test train because all the world does not know SC maglev was proven 1997 t0 2011.
