A jury trial is set to open July 10 centered on land condemnation rights sought by Baltimore Washington Rapid Rail (BWRR). The firm is seeking to build a $10 billion high-speed train or maglev that can make a one-way trip from Baltimore to Washington, D.C. in 15 minutes using magnetic levitation.
But that quest would wipe out a plan by Stonewall Capital and developer Ray Jackson to create a new urban waterfront community there.

Funding sources for the maglev include federal funds and money from the Japanese government, which are not yet committed, said Matthew Sturtz, a partner at Nelson Mullins, which is representing Stonewall, on May 8.
Both sides have continued to trade barbs over the site and its future.
