JR Central opened an official X account on June 4, 2026, to share the status of Chuo Shinkansen maglev construction work. The account is titled “From the Linear Construction Site [JR Central Official]” and presents the “current state” of the project.

The first post shows an aerial photo of the tentatively named Gifu Prefecture Station, now under construction in the Sakamoto district of Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture.

JR Central explains the station as follows: “[Translated quote] Gifu Prefecture Station, tentative name, is an elevated station approximately 1,260 meters long. Among the stations on the Chuo Shinkansen, it is the only one with a forwarding line to the rolling stock depot. At present, construction work is underway on columns and other structures that will support the passenger platforms.”

The account is intended to show specific scenes from maglev construction sites that are normally not accessible to the public.
