From the ruins of Naeba Castle, a 16th-century mountain fortress in Nakatsugawa, Gifu Prefecture, three bridges spanning the Kiso River can be observed in close proximity—a future viewpoint attraction once the maglev line opens.

The closest is a temporary bridge for constructing the Chuo Shinkansen’s Second Kiso River Bridge. The middle, notably older and lower, is the abandoned Kita-Ena Railway’s Kiso River Bridge—a private line operating from 1924 to 1978 that linked Nakatsu-machi to Shimobuchi (approx. 22 km), with several bridge piers remaining. The far bridge is Prefectural Route 6’s Tamakura Bridge.

The maglev briefly surfaces here, crossing the abandoned railway bridge and passing the Taisho-era rail and Showa-era road bridges before tunneling through hills toward the under-construction Gifu Prefecture Station near JR Minosakamoto Station. Nearby Chidataray hosts a vehicle depot under construction.
