Dr. Roland Kircher

Dr. Roland Kircher is a physicist. He serves as vice president of the International Maglev Board (IMB).

Dr. Kircher worked for many years at Siemens research and development in various fields and positions. 

Dr. Kircher gained professional and project management experience in nuclear physics, semiconductor physics and modeling, process development and integration, innovative energy systems, such as fuel cell technology for mobile and stationary applications, and innovation management.

He worked as R&D manager for several years in China and Japan. His activities included projects in mobile communication manufacturing processes, transportation and infrastructure systems, organization of a technology fair  at the headquarter of Toyota. Due to his knowledge in innovation management he held a professorship in science of institutional management of technology at the Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2009.
His expertise in technology and applications contributed to successful marketing and communication of technology in the field of electronics, energy and environment at Siemens.

In 2014, Dr. Kircher organized the European Conference on Internet of Energy for Electric Mobility in cooperation with SINTEF and the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Nürnberg-Erlangen (FAU). From 2007 to 2015, he organized several times the Siemens R&D contribution to the technology fair “Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften” in the metropolitan area of Nürnberg, Fürth and Erlangen.

Dr. Kircher also works as consultant in the field of energy and environmental issues.
